TUBITAK MAM Chemical Technology Institute (CTI) has accelerated its studies on the detection of Chemical& Biological warfare agents and explosives.
The CBRN project team in CTI increases its experience thanks to the infrastructure they have established and the collaborations they have developed in the past few years. Recently, the group has participated in the proficiency tests organized by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for the trial purpose in May in order to demonstrate and prove its competence in international platforms. On June 29th, an online evaluation meeting was held with OPCW officials on the proficiency test result of the Institute. It was stated by the OPCW officials that the submitted test report was successful in terms of both analysis findings and report format, and the group was advised to participate in the coming proficiency tests.
In addition, the group has attended to the online general evaluation meeting and workshop organized by OPCW for all participating laboratories on June 29th and 30th.
The group has gained experience in the analysis of controlled chemicals and their precursors listed by the OPCW and had the opportunity to communicate with many laboratories in different countries by participating the proficiency test and the online events.
