The Photonics Technologies Group, located within TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center – Materials Institute, is an interdisciplinary research group conducting pioneering studies in the field of solar energy, display and lighting technologies in the direction of Turkey’s strategic objectives.
In the field of solar energy, researches on high-efficiency crystalline silicon and new generation (perovskite and organic) photovoltaic technologies are being carried out and application-specific solar panels are being developed.
In the field of imaging and lighting, organic light emitting diode (OLED) technology is being investigated. The molecules used in the fabrication of OLED devices are synthesized, innovative OLED device designs are made, and production processes are improved. In addition, design and production of transistor driver circuit for organic electronic devices are performed.
The Photonics Technologies Group consists of 10 researchers (80% of PhD degree) from different disciplines, and 2 technicians.
